- Robert Chow (anti-Occupy camp) has said: "In the past, the worst occupying we have are only 3 years and 8 month. Do we need 3 years and 9 months or 3 years and 8 months, before we can get rid of the occupying movement? In the past, we have in total two occupation: the first is when Japan occupied Hong Kong, and the second time is this time."
- Robert Chow has been criticised for his comparision of the pro-democracy protesters to the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong during World War 2.
- Reports are emerging of the Chinese government preparing to order the Hong Kong government to use "violent force" to end the protests after APEC according to an ex-NPC member.
